James Alvin Williams

James A. Williams was a Licensed Funeral Director and Founder of The Williams Funeral Homes in Barnesville, Milledgeville, & Gordon. A native of Spalding County, he began his career in the Funeral Industry in 1952. He has started seven successful funeral homes in his career. Mr. Williams has been a member of The Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, and The Lion's Club. He has been a member of the Georgia Funeral Director's Association for over 43 years, and has been a member of the National Funeral Director's Association as well. James was a member of The First Baptist Church of Barnesville. He was the husband of Blanche Williams, and enjoyed gardening in his spare time.



Blanche Williams

Office Manager / Apprentice / Licensed Insurance Agent
Blanche Williams is a native of Milledgeville, GA. Blanche is the widow of the late Mr. James A. Williams and is the Office Manager of Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville. She is a member of Northside Baptist Church in Milledgeville, and attends the First Baptist Church of Barnesville. Blanche is an active member of  The Pilot Club in Milledgeville, and of The Red Hat Society in Barnesville, & the Lydia Sunday School Class. She is a Past Lieutenant Governor of the Georgia District of Pilot Club International & Past Pilot of the Year. Blanche is a Past Woodmen of the World Woman of the Year, a Member of the 4-H Honor Council, a Volunteer with the "Pink Ladies" at Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville, and a Volunteer with the American Red Cross. She is a Funeral Service Apprentice.

Spencer N. Williams

Spencer Williams is the third generation in the family business. Spencer is a native of Milledgeville, GA. He is a 1995 Graduate of John Milledge Academy. Spencer is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. He is a 1999 Graduate of Gupton - Jones College of Funeral Service where he was Parliamentarian on the Student Council and a member of the Theta Chapter of Pi Sigma Eta, which is the National Academic Honor Fraternity for Funeral Directors. Spencer is the proud father of Spencer Brantley Williams, and is a member of The First United Methodist Church in Barnesville. He is also a Mason, a Shriner, a member of The Barnesville-Lamar County Lions Club, and a member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans. In the Spring of 2008, Spencer was appointed by the Secretary of State's Office and The Georgia State Board of Funeral Service to serve as a Subject Matter Expert. This designation of Subject Matter Expert is given as Spencer has been working with the State Board of Funeral Service in evaluating the Laws and Rules that govern Funeral Service in the State of Georgia and assisting in writing and implementing the new State Laws and Rules Examination for Funeral Service, which is a requirement for those who will receive Licensure as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Georgia. Spencer is honored to receive this designation, and Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville is proud of Spencer, and his accomplishments.

Spencer Brantley Williams

Apprentice
Spencer Brantley Williams was born on November 28, 2005 at 1:13pm in Griffin, GA. He weighed 6lbs. 5oz. and was 19 inches long. He is the son of Spencer N. Williams. "Spencer Brantley" is the 4th Generation Funeral Director in the family business. Mr. Williams will meet you at the door with a smile. He still loves to sit in his Great Grandpa's office and eat his Moon Pies. Watching this precious gift from God lets us know just how lucky we truly are. He is healthy, and one of the happiest little men that you will ever meet.



Tom Gregory

Funeral Assistant

Tom Gregory is a Funeral Assistant with Williams Funeral Home. He has worked with the Williams Family at Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville for several years now. He is the husband of Vicki King Gregory. Tom and his family are members of New Beginnings Pentecostal Church on Juliette Road in Monroe County.



Rev. Brad Banks

Funeral Service Chaplain / Funeral Service Apprentice

The Reverend Brad Banks is a Licensed and Ordained Minister. He serves as an on-staff Funeral Services Chaplain for Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville. A native of Spalding County, Brad is the Pastor of Crosswalk Community Church. In following his ministry, Rev. Banks is beginning his Apprenticeship for Funeral Service. His family includes his wife, Stephanie Banks, and their three children: Grace, Cayden, and Abigail.

Cody A. Starnes

Funeral Director / Embalmer
Cody A. Starnes is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. A native of Woodbury, Cody is a resident of Upson County, GA. He is a Graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service. Cody brings with him over 9 years experience in Funeral Service.



Raymond D. Grimes

Funeral Director
Raymond Grimes is a lifelong resident of Wilkinson County and a Funeral Director. He is the husband of Charlotte Grimes, who is a retired school teacher. He is retired from Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, and has been working with the Williams Family since1964.



Billy Hester

Funeral Assistant

Billy Hester is the son-in-law of James A. Williams. He is married to James' youngest daughter, Susan. Billy has worked with Williams Funeral Homes for over twenty years, and is a 1985 Graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service.
